• Wakaf/Infaq •

The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah is that of a grain that sprouts into seven ears, each bearing one hundred grains. And Allah multiplies ˹the reward even more˺ to whoever He wills. For Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing. (Al-Baqarah:261)

Wakaf in Singapore

WHAT IS WAKAF?

Wakaf is the dedication of a property (can be fixed asset or cash) by a person through a will or otherwise for pious purposes, religious purposes or for charitable purposes.
In other words the property is given away for the benefit of whoever as desired by the donor. A person may also
wakaf useful belongings or objects which can be of benefit to other people. For example, a piece of table or chair can be made wakaf to the madrasah.
Wakaf is one of the ways of worship or a way to draw closer to Allah through the endowed wealth for benevolence and charitable acts or purposes. In case the object is not an everlasting object, then it must be ensured that it is used for as long as it remains usable.

How does SG Aqiqah involve the community in Wakaf and Infaq initiatives?
At SG Aqiqah, we believe in the power of community involvement to make a positive impact. We actively engage the community in Wakaf and Infaq initiatives by organizing campaigns, events, and partnerships that promote these charitable practices. Through our platform, individuals and businesses have the opportunity to contribute to Wakaf and Infaq initiatives, fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility for the betterment of society.
What are Wakaf and Infaq, and how do they differ from other forms of charitable giving?
Wakaf:
Wakaf involves the dedication of assets such as money, property, or other valuable items for charitable purposes. These assets are typically donated and the returns generated are used to support specific causes, projects, or institutions.

Infaq:
Infaq, on the other hand, refers to voluntary, spontaneous acts of giving and sharing wealth, often in the form of donations or contributions. Infaq is not necessarily tied to specific assets and can be given freely to benefit others in need.

Both Wakaf and Infaq are forms of charitable giving in Islam, emphasizing the spirit of generosity and community welfare.
